NECC Guinness World Record Attempt.
On Thursday, June 11th the North East Chamber of Commerce held their annual member showcase, with this year being a little bit more special than usual as it’s the NECC’s 200 year anniversary.
To celebrate this momentous anniversary they decided to become record breakers and attempt to make it into the Guinness book of world records by creating the ‘Largest Human Currency Symbol’, in this case, a pound sign, to promote inward investment in the region. To break the record and get there name in the book they needed over 300 business representatives to come together and create the pound sign we all know and love, and Abfad was there to help smash it.
It’s not every day you get the opportunity to take part in a world record attempt and it proved a unique and fun experience, as well as an interesting way to network with fellow businesses from across the North East.
Guinness is completing all there stringent final checks and we will find out over the coming days whether this was a successful attempt, fingers crossed, what better way for the NECC to mark their anniversary than by becoming record breakers.
